To put it another way, imagine Darkest Dungeon without the dark part as For The King certainly brings more colorful charm. Who would’ve guessed? The real unique premise here is that the game is a turn-based rogue-lite. Players take their party of adventurers across the land of Farhul in a quest to, of course, save the kingdom. In addition, it features procedurally generated maps, events, and even quests. It mixes run-based combat with roguelike mechanics. This 2018 indie title from IronOak Games is a blend of genres. Of these two titles, For The King is likely the one you’ve never heard of. Previously, the service has given users free copies of Star Wars: Battlefront II and Torchlight II. This week’s offerings from the Epic Games Store are For The King and Metro Last Light: Redux. Sure you can get some titles every month on consoles, but the Epic Games Store offers two free titles to its users every week. But the most standout among them? Free games. PC gaming has its benefits, including fast loading speeds, ray tracing, and higher graphical fidelity than even the newest consoles.
